French door installation lives or dies on the frame. Two leaves have to meet in the middle with an even reveal top to bottom, which means the opening must be square, the head must be level, and the hinges must be shimmed with real precision. Our technicians measure the opening before ordering, and set the frame with shims and a level rather than trusting the wall.

We install pre-hung and site-hung French doors in wood, fiberglass, steel, and clad frames, with single or multipoint locking, and full weathersealing on exterior sets.

Exterior French Door Installation

Exterior French doors take weather on both leaves and a lock on only one, so the sealing detail matters more than the door does. We fit them with a proper sill pan, an astragal and multipoint lock on the passive leaf, and continuous weatherseal around the perimeter — the difference between a door that stays tight and one that whistles every winter.

Interior French Door Installation

Interior French doors open a room up without giving up the option to close it off. Because there’s no weather to fight, the job is all about alignment and hardware feel — even reveals, quiet hinges, and both leaves landing flush.

When French doors stop meeting in the middle, it’s almost always hinges, shims, or a frame that’s moved — not the doors themselves. Sagging leaves, a lock that misses the keeper, a rubbing astragal, and draughts through the centre join are all repairable without replacing anything.

Our technicians re-shim and re-hang leaves, replace failed hinges, adjust or replace multipoint locks and handle sets, re-seat astragals, and renew weatherseal and thresholds. Cracked or fogged glazing in an individual lite can be replaced too.

Where the frame has rotted at the base, the leaves have warped, or the doors have been forced, French door replacement is the sound call. It’s also the moment to fix anything the original installer got wrong — an out-of-square opening, a missing sill pan, an undersized header.

We can replace a single damaged leaf where the pair still matches, or the full unit including the frame, threshold, and hardware. Exterior sets are replaced with the weatherproofing detail built in, not added afterwards.

1. Call and describe the problem. A misaligned pair and a rotted frame need different parts on the truck.
2. On-site inspection. We check reveal, hinges, threshold, lock engagement, and frame condition.
3. Repair or replace. Realignments and hardware swaps are same-visit work; full replacements are scheduled once the unit is measured.
4. Seal, lock, and test. Both leaves tested closed, locked, and sealed before we finish.
